Haréhare is one of the places we’ve visited most often since becoming parents.

My Experience
We visit Akashi Seaside Swimming Pool almost every summer, and it’s become one of our family’s favorite seasonal traditions.

Next to the beach is Okura Kaigan Park, which has a playground where our children can have fun even when it’s too cold to swim. During low tide in the summer, part of the beach becomes a great spot for rock pooling. We visit Ishigatani Park every year during both cherry blossom season and plum blossom season. The park is beautiful at both times of year, and it’s become one of our favorite places to enjoy the changing seasons.
Our children especially love the dinosaur-themed playground, particularly the long slide. Getting to the slide is part of the fun, as they climb through the various play structures before racing back down again.

A wide grassy field gives children plenty of space to run, kick a ball, or fly a kite. The grass is regularly and neatly mowed, making the open lawn comfortable for children to play on. Another advantage of Matsue Park is its comfortable walking paths and open spaces. My Experience
Matsue Park is a little farther from the nearest station, but there is a parking lot nearby, which makes it convenient for families visiting by car. Another great advantage is that Matsue Beach is just across the road from the parking lot. We can enjoy playing in the sand and looking out over the wide open sea before heading to the park to play.
In summer, our children also love looking for insects such as cicadas, grasshoppers, and dragonflies. They can spend ages searching through the grass and trying to catch them.
They especially enjoy running races and playing soccer on the lawn. There’s also a small hill in the park, which they love running up and down.

8. Uozumi Minna Park (17 Goike Uozumi Minna Park)
Opened in 2023, Uozumi Minna Park, officially known as 17 Goike Uozumi Minna Park, is one of Akashi’s newer family-friendly parks. The park has a large open lawn with plenty of space for running, playing ball, practicing bike riding, or simply enjoying a sunny afternoon. Its modern playground includes a variety of equipment designed for children of different ages, including younger children who are just beginning to explore playgrounds.
The spacious layout and well-maintained facilities also make the park easy to enjoy with strollers and young children. There are benches around the playground where parents can sit and watch their children play.
